Being Ourselves
The free-flow design of our spaces means that the children can take their own initiative in choosing what they want to be doing and who they want to be playing with. We encourage the children to be themselves and learn more about the person they are becoming.
In our dining room the children and staff come together as a family, where we can try different foods and talk about our likes and dislikes. With the children we are constantly developing our spaces, and our allotment is always growing with the help of the children. They are also helping us to create a farmyard area with animals made by the children themselves, and hay bales for seating areas.
By encouraging the children to help us to enhance our spaces to suit their interests, they feel proud of being a part of it and they know that they are safe to express themselves in everything that they do. From free play to yoga, reading to gardening, our children can freely discover who they are.
